Youth camps or conferences offered by JEMS are based on a combination of cabin leader and guest speaker format. What does this mean?

It means we have experienced, qualified Christian cabin leaders who understand our camp ministry and love working with the youth. For one whole week, the cabin leaders each oversee 4 to 7 youths, separated into boys and girls cabins. A cabin leader facilitates cabin time activities such as discussing, sharing experiences, praying, and scripture learning in order to develop beneficial disciplines for right living. A cabin leader will spend time with each assigned youth during the course of the week to provide appropriate and individual attention.

We invite proven speakers from the Christian community to speak on the theme of the conference for the whole week. At most camps, we have morning and evening speakers who will bring the bible to life and address the issues confronting the youth of today with biblical insight and practical answers.

The facilities, nestled in the beautiful redwood trees of the Santa Cruz Mountains, are ideal for all ages. Clean cabins with bathrooms, are designed to facilitate fellowship, rest, and small group interaction. There are large auditoriums for the keynote sessions, dining rooms, and break-off meeting rooms. Excellent recreational facilities are also available where sports equipment is provided.

Our programs are tailored and integrated for each age group. We believe it is well balanced with biblical teaching time, music, and worship experience, and time of reflection and recreation (both outdoors and indoors).

Note to Parents :::

We want to assure you that JEMS offers the best possible camping experience for children, youth, collegians, career young adults, and families. With over 60 years of camping experience behind us, we provide a well organized, quality camping program that is worthy of your investment. Every dollar spent is more worthwhile money you can invest for your children.

Many children have made life-long friends during the week at camp. They have also made life-changing decisions that bring tremendous dividends for the rest of their lives.

Besides having trained cabin leaders and dedicated Core Team members who run the camp, we have nurse and lifeguards at each camp to make sure the campers are taken care of each day.

Meals are prepared and served right at camp. Snack shops are open during the free time for refreshments, t-shirts, and Christian book sales.

We have limited amounts of rules and regulations, which we expect to be followed. Repeated offenses will mean that an offender will be sent home at the expense of the parents.

Testimonies from youth who have attended in the past definitely attest that the JEMS Mount Hermon Conference proved to be the best experience they have ever had while growing up.
